I got a notice from my host that they need to do some upgrades over the next few weeks. Because they are doing it in batches, this site will get hit at some point, but they don't have a precise estimate for me regarding the exact time. There are ways to keep up time in spite of single server going down, but I figure it's not the end of the world regardless.
The window is kind of long for this sort of thing. 10-25 minutes. But it could be longer.
The point is, don't freak out.
Must be the PHP flaw patch?
Seems the most likely reason. And a very good reason.
I give it 50% odds. There's an argument against that being the reason. These are general use VPS where the user is in charge of managing their version of php if they use it at all.
But maybe their management panel uses it so maybe they need to reset the physical servers.
This company also does some really unique things with network attached storage, which they actively work on and upgrade hardware for. So besides PHP, they also have their own stuff going on, which is the other 50%.
Back it up.
(Not the bedroom connotation.)
Thanks for the info.
Possibly a quirk of my dayjob's firewall (which is both amazingly retarded and hilariously inconsistent) rather than the upgrade, but I am currently unable to load Goatmatrix, while Submatrix is just fine.
